CLOSED ANNUALLY: Open all year round

THE STORY: After a few years adventuring between Paris and New York, the young entrepreneur Zied Sanhaji (28 years old) finally settled down in the 8th arrondissement and opened up his own place: Amastan, a somber and timeless space, nothing like the cramped hotels that are a dime a dozen in this neighborhood. A cool spot for dandies to kick back in, with stylish bedrooms (blue herringbone hardwood floors, carefully studied light, Scandinavian desk-tables with wicker chairs), an interior courtyard, a cocktail bar, and interesting events (art exhibits, collaborations with promising artists) organized from time to time in the adjacent space. Double rooms starting at €225 a night.

TOILETRIES: Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion by Sacha Juan, a Swedish cosmetic line.
INTERNET: Wifi (free)
BREAKFAST: €14 for the Petit Jouer option which includes coffee or tea, freshly pressed juice, viennoiseries, tartines, wholegrain brain, organic Alain Milliat jams, and €19 for the Parisien option with, in addition to all that, fresh fruit salad, cheeses and charcuterie.
MINI-BAR: No, but there is a Nespresso machine and mineral water available in the rooms.
LITTLE LUXURY: You can lounge around on the green patio (30 different types of plants!) all day long!
